We have come across many gifting guides this holiday season. Gifts for husbands and wives, kids and pets, gifts for all walks of life and all sorts of jobs seem to be popping up everywhere. What seems to be missing in this smorgasbord of people are holiday gifts for your happy traveler! I have composed a list (and I have been very good this year Mr. Claus) of things to gift travelers from your every day vacationer to your hardcore backpacker to your luxury first classer. Enjoy TheConstantRambler Travel Holiday Gift Guide!
Travel Holiday Gift Guide
Luggage
Doesn’t matter if it is a backpack, carry-on, or entire set of suitcases. Every traveler needs luggage that is durable and easy to carry. Prints and patterns are best for making your luggage stand out so that you don’t leave your destinations with someone else’s stuff.
Camera and Video Gear
I’m not suggesting that you go out and buy your fellow traveler a new camera (even though we would all love one), but rather buy them some of the many useful accessories out there. Whether it’s a new case, mini tripod, or even just a cleaning kit, camera and video equipment is the lifeblood of most travelers and they will truly appreciate it.
More Travel
You can give the gift of travel to any traveler by purchasing them gift or travel vouchers. Certificates for gas, hotels, cruises , or just plain ole air miles are always handy. Many airlines and hotel chains offer gift certificates available for purchase and are a great way to help your loved one to keep traveling.
Outdoor and Weather Related Gear
New boots for hiking or raincoats, or even little things like winter gloves or water shoes are great gifts. Travelers end up in all kinds of climates and all sorts of weather. These gifts are thoughtful and will be put to good use. They can also range from luxury to the thrifty budgets.
Travel Accessories
There are literally hundreds of items that fall into this category. Voltage converters, phone chargers, extra batteries, the list can go on and on.
One of my favorites is the I-Tex T2022 voltage inverter. While on a road trip I can plug it into any car’s 12-V power outlet and use it to charge and run my Laptop, camera, and charge a USB device all at once! The best part? It’s less than $30 on Amazon!
Subscriptions
If there’s one thing on my list that I can never get enough of it’s things to do to kill time while waiting. Whether I’m waiting for a flight, a train, or just driving across the country there it always time for a good TV show, movie, or book. Netflix and Hulu are two great services for those residing in the US but are more sketchy when your traveler heads overseas.
If reading is more their flavor get them started with Audible.com and download some e-books? You can set up a monthly subscription of pay for the whole year. Either way you’ll get book credits each month along wit lots of other great features. Click here for a cool 50% off the first 3 months or a Free Trial!
