The Most Unique and Best Brunches in Calgary
We absolutely love a good brunch! What’s there not to like about waking up late on Sunday and dragging yourself out of the house for the only meal that allows you to have a cocktail before noon and not be judged? Thankfully the people of Calgary seem to love brunch as much as I do, so there are tons of options for a great brunch in and around the city. After doing lots of tasting and drinking (tough job right?? ) we’ve come up with a list of what we think are the 6 most unique and best brunches in Calgary.
Riding the Log Train with the Cass Scenic Railroad in West Virginia
As I stood staring out into the woods that were rapidly passing by, I was hypnotized by the steady and rhythmic sound of the steam engine and the wheels chugging along on the steel tracks below. For a few moments I was transported, not back in time, but instead to a place that was timeless. A place where men spent their days above ground logging while their brethren spent long hours underground mining for the coal that fueled the beast that I was currently riding. You see I was riding the Cass Scenic Railroad through West Virginia reliving the life of those that came before me.
Learn to Ski in Calgary with WinSport at Canada Olympic Park
If you’re a southerner like me, there are a lot of benefits to visiting a city like Calgary in the winter. Just seeing the snow is a novelty, plus you get to take advantage of cool winter only activities like snowshoeing, bobsledding, or just building a snowman. The biggest benefit though, is the fact that Calgary is located just outside of the Canadian Rockies and has access to some of the best skiing Canada has to offer. Unfortunately that’s completely useless if the closest you’ve ever come to skiing is trying to walk in the snow with size 14 shoes on. :-) This year I decided to finally bite the bullet and learn to ski in Calgary with WinSport at Canada Olympic Park.
