On our last visit to Louisiana we did something we never ever do…we ventured out of New Orleans! If you are anything like us, the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Louisiana is Bourbon Street. Well, we decided we needed to branch out and see what the rest of the state had to offer. We decided to Ramble On through Louisiana and our first stop was a little town called Bush. Our stay here was at a wonderful pet-friendly B&B called Splendor Farms.
New Orleans is one of those cities that sticks to my ribs like a good gumbo. We ramble through this city a few times a year and it never disappoints. On our last visit we stayed at the Loews Hotel in downtown NOLA. Why? Because Loews Loves Pets and everyone knows that we do too!
Everyone knows that I’ve recently come to terms with my inner hippie. I’m all “Peace, Love, and Flowers” now. On our recent trip to the Finger Lakes we had the chance to visit a unique winery that embodies all that is “Peace, Love, and Happiness”. Inspire Moore winery in Naples, NY made us feel right at home. We even let Zoe come along for the ride.
I have an extreme love/hate relationship with zoos and their existence. I love animals! There is no doubt about that. I love all animals (even snakes, though it has to be from a distance). Throughout our travels, I almost always make it a point to stop at a local zoo or wildlife center. I’ve even visited some farms and animal sanctuaries. I am a huge advocate of the preservation and conservation of all animals. Where does my struggle stem from then? Well, I don’t know how right it is to keep animals in captivity.
People ask us all the time why we don’t frequently travel outside of North America. There is a pretty simple answer to this, yet people find it hard to wrap their minds around it. We made a commitment. What is a commitment? Well, it’s a state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc., and I made a commitment to my pet(s).
