While Yosemite make’s it to the top of California’s “A-list” for National parks in the area; there are two strong “B-listers” that are definitely worth a visit. They are the sister parks of Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park . Much like Hollywood movies, these B-Parks frequently are less crowded and offer more substance than their mega-blockbuster A-list counterparts. If you find yourself looking for a wonderful day of driving and hiking, head on over to King’s Canyon National Park and it’s sister Sequoia National Park. Considering all three parks are along the same range, I promise you’ll have a grand ole’ time without all the crowds and fuss of Yosemite.

Visiting the Georgia Aquarium In Atlanta
Kenin and I had the absolute pleasure of visiting the Georgia Aquarium while in Atlanta last fall. I wanted to visit the aquarium when it first opened in 2005, but something always seemed to get in the way. Nothing was going to stop me from seeing the whale sharks and manta rays on this trip. I woke up early and was ready to go before Kenin even had his first cup of coffee. Georgia Aquarium here I come!
Banff National Park – Love at first hike!
Banff National Park was our first experience with the Canadian wilderness, and the cause of our crush on Canada. There’s something about its majestic mountains and pristine lakes that make our hearts go pitter patter and our stomachs gently flutter. No other part of the Canadian wilderness can quite compare to the grandeur of Banff. That’s the interesting thing about first loves though, they incite a deep emotional reaction at the very thought of them, but they also become the gold standard from that point on. We fell in love with Banff National Park the moment we stepped on that first trail, turned, and gazed out over Lake Minewanka. One could even say, when it comes to us and Banff it was love at first hike!
Glacier National Park Road Trip Planner & Photo Essay
When looking for places to visit while road tripping, we often look for somewhere that is going to be a great scenic drive, or a location that offers lots of hiking and other natural activities. Occasionally though we get lucky and find a place that offers fantastic drives and the opportunity to really get in touch with Mother Nature. Glacier National Park happens to be one of those places. If you are planning a road trip anywhere near Northern Montana, make sure to include Glacier National Park in your itinerary. It’s one of the most unique National Parks in the US and easily sits near the top of my list of favorites.
Kluane Lake a Natural Wonder of the Yukon – A Photo Essay
We had the pleasure of driving past the astounding Kluane Lake twice while on our journey from Florida to Alaska. We first drove past Kluane Lake (the proper order of the name) on the way up to Tok, Alaska during a mild snow storm. We then drove past the lake a second time on a beautiful , clear day on our way back out of Alaska. It was a little hard to believe that it was the same lake on the same stretch of road. Both times we found the lake absolutely stunning, and can see why it is a major attraction to visitors year round. I put together this short photo essay (with video) to share the natural wonder and beauty of Kluane Lake with the world.
