We love beer! We will never pass up the opportunity to try a new craft beer. During our Calgary visit we were pleasantly surprised at the craft beer movement in this fabulous town. Tucked away in the industrial neighborhood of Calgary is the Village Brewery. You know us, we had to take a tour and a taste (well, a few tastes :) ). In addition to a Brewery tour, we were invited to the Village Brewery Hump Day Social. The event changed not just my perception of craft beer, but of business in general! This one day solidified my love for the city of Calgary and the people who live here.

Learning to Snowboard at Nakiska Mountain Resort in Kananaskis
Growing up and living in Florida most of my life gave winter sports this tremendous air of thrill and mystery. Heck, Lauren and I didn’t even see snow for the first time ’til we were in our 20’s. Anytime I ever saw anyone on a snowboard swooping down hill, or hitting a half pipe I felt this incredible urge to jump on plane, find some fresh powder (I didn’t even know what that really meant), and shred! Now that we’re spending the winter in Canada taking in winter sports like snowshoeing and bobsledding, we decided it was time to learn how to snowboard. After all it’s item #22 on our bucket list. We took a trek out to the Nakiska Mountain Resort, which is Calgary’s closest mountain, and gave it our best.
Heritage Ranch – Taking Calgary Date Night to the Next Level
When you’ve been a couple for a long time, date night can become a bit routine or, dare I say it, just a bit stale. I mean dinner and a movie are fun and all, but sometimes you’re looking for something more romantic and meaningful. And to the guys out there, I know we can all agree that planning a romantic date night can be pretty difficult at times. Why can’t date night just be easy and fun? With that in mind, I decided to go on a hunt for the best date night in Calgary. I’m happy to report that I found exactly what I was looking for at Heritage Ranch. They’ve managed to take date night to the next level by not only knocking it out of the park with romance, but by having it all tied up in one neat little package.
The Canadian Brewhouse – A Calgary Staple for Food and Fun
Searching for a fun time in Calgary, want to take in a Flames game, or maybe just glut yourself into a food coma? Well, do I have the place for you! While spending a few months in Calgary, Kenin and I made a visit (well, a few visits) to The Canadian Brewhouse. Warning: Food Porn ahead!
Train with Olympic Elites at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary
There aren’t many places in the world where average humans like you and I have the opportunity to train side by side with Olympic Athletes. Here in Calgary though, they like to do things just a little differently. Enter the WinSport Training Facilities at the Canada Olympic Park. It’s the kind of place where an average Joe like me could learn to luge, play hockey, ski, snow board, and even figure skate. Located on the site of the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, the COP is dedicated to one thing: training high-performance winter athletes. Once you get a look at this place, you’ll see why!
