Adults Only Night at The Telus Spark Science Center Calgary

Do you know what really gets me hot? Science Son! Seriously…I can’t think of a more perfect evening than a beaker in one hand, a beer in the other, and my sweetie at my side. The Telus Spark Science Centre in Calgary, AB offers an Adults Only Night on the second Thursday of every month that is the perfect setup for the perfect date night. The evening starts off at 6 PM and runs until 10 PM. The Science Centre opens up for this adults only night with a full bar and a DJ spinning cool tunes all night. Each event features a different theme each month so there is always something new to entice your senses.

Calgary Zoo – From Flood to Flourish!

Like a mighty phoenix rising up from the ashes, the Calgary Zoo soars to new heights to save it’s tails. Okay, this may seem a bit dramatic, but after witnessing the total devastation that the flood of 2013 had on the Calgary Zoo this June, you have to have a serious respect for the people that shed there blood, sweat and tears rebuilding the zoo.

Hidden Ridge Resort, Banff AB – A Home Away From Home

Often times staying in a hotel or resort can be more of a function of necessity than enjoyment. Your average hotel room is usually one small room, with a bed, bathroom, and if your lucky a closet. While it fills a need and gives you a place to stay, it’s not normally very comfortable, especially if you are planning to stay in one place for a long visit. The Hidden Ridge Resort in Banff takes the typical hotel paradigm and flips it around. What if instead of staying in a tiny room, you could vacation in a fully furnished 3-bedroom condo and still be just minutes from downtown Banff, and all the great ski resorts? Oh and of course the property is pet friendly so you can even bring your favorite family friend with you!  Lauren and I were invited to review the Hidden Ridge Resort during our last visit to Banff, and we’re here to tell you what it’s all about.

Banff National Park – Love at first hike!

Banff National Park was our first experience with the Canadian wilderness, and the cause of our crush on Canada. There’s something about its majestic mountains and pristine lakes that make our hearts go pitter patter and our stomachs gently flutter. No other part of the Canadian wilderness can quite compare to the grandeur of Banff. That’s the interesting thing about first loves though, they incite a deep emotional reaction at the very thought of them, but they also become the gold standard from that point on. We fell in love with Banff National Park the moment we stepped on that first trail, turned, and gazed out over Lake Minewanka. One could even say, when it comes to us and Banff  it was love at first hike!

Meat, Fondue, and Swingers? Grizzly House in Banff has it all!

Review of Grizzly House Banff AB Canda   When we visited Banff, AB last fall, we quickly fell in love with the little ski town. What’s not to like? It’s a little ski hamlet with lots of quirky and fun shops and restaurants tucked into the middle of a national park. While sightseeing,  we came across a little spot to eat that was well recommended and looked right up our alley! Who wouldn’t want to eat at a place called Grizzly House? On top of the cool name and design, this place offered a great selection of exotic meats and had an awesome laid back feel that turned out to be much more than we expected. Win! We had a great meal and wanted to share our review of Grizzly House in Banff, so you too can enjoy this unique dining experience.
