Watkins Glen, NY has a long and deep automotive racing history. The city has gone from hosting the towns first road race back in 1948 to hosting global events at the Watkins Glen International Speedway. It’s only natural then that Watkins Glen would be home to the International Motor Racing Research Center.
Established in 1852, the Hotel Fauchere was recognized as a historic landmark in Milford, Pennsylvania in 1980. Delighted to stay in the romantic Poconos, the Hotel Fauchere was an excellent choice for a fun little getaway.
Ahh Fall. It’s one of our most enjoyable times of year. The trees are ablaze with incredible colors, there’s a cool crisp bite to the air, and everything is suddenly available in the seemingly unescapable flavor of Pumpkin Spice. Perhaps our favorite part of the season though, is that communities nationwide come together with festivals celebrating the bountiful harvest. Of course here in West Virginia they celebrate the fall just a little bit differently: with a Road Kill Cook- Off. Yes you read that correctly, I said Road Kill Cook-Off. Dinosaur BBQ restaurant in Syracuse is a well-known biker bar that serves great grub and the beer flows freely. My kind of place. We didn’t ride over here (we took the much more boring form of transportation also known as walking), but we did come across too many motorcycles to count parked all around the place. Upon first inspection, this quirky restaurant seemed very out of place for Syracuse, but after crossing the front lines and walking in the door, I could see why people, locals and visitors alike, flock here for a fun time and great barbecue.
Vancouver is known for it’s gorgeous skyline views, mild temperatures, five-star restaurants and high-rise hotel rooms, but it’s not often praised for its budget-friendly travel options. While most publications choose to boast Vancouver’s top end dining and accommodation choices, there’s still plenty of room for budget travelers in this city by the sea. In fact, Vancouver is rich with budget-friendly places to stay, eat and play, that are often the foundation of million-dollar memories.
