When we think of Georgia, we instantly think of peaches and the new Justin Bieber lyrics of “I got my peaches out in Georgia…”. Turns out that Georgia is known for a lot more popular things than just these sweet, fuzzy fruits. As a popular southern vacation destination and hotspot for all things Coca-Cola, vidalia onions and pecan pies, Georgia offers the best old-school charm city while taking in the amazing sights and flavors.
Kenin and I had the absolute pleasure of visiting the Georgia Aquarium while in Atlanta last fall. I wanted to visit the aquarium when it first opened in 2005, but something always seemed to get in the way. Nothing was going to stop me from seeing the whale sharks and manta rays on this trip. I woke up early and was ready to go before Kenin even had his first cup of coffee. Georgia Aquarium here I come!
After 4 days of travel and covering over 1200 miles, we thought it would be a great time to update everyone on our road trip’s progress so far. We’re having a great time on the road and we’ve got lots of pictures and updates to share. So far, we’ve made it from Key West, FL to Richmond, KY.
We woke up refreshed and eager today at 5:30 AM. Pretty surprising considering no alarm was set and we’re on vacation. It must be a side effect of not having a job or something. We ended up doing an offbeat “rambling road trip” 536 mile drive from Jacksonville, FL to Knoxville, TN. It took much longer than it should have because we made it a point to take a bunch of detours along the way and found plenty of things to do. It made the previous day feel like a practice run for the real thing. We headed out that morning full of laughter and giggles ready for adventure to come our way.
