There aren’t many places that can manage to pull off just the right combination of minimalistic style and warmth. By its very nature, minimalism is typically cold and aloof, but somehow Hotel Red in Madison Wisconsin, has managed to do just that. When we stepped foot into our room, Lauren and I both felt like we were stepping right into the comfort our own home.
When visiting Harrisburg, PA, several locals recommended we check out the Midtown Scholar Bookstore. We love reading and bookstores are somewhere Kenin and I both use for solitary recreation. All this being said, I wasn’t sure why such a huge deal was being made about this place. Most bookstores are pretty similar, books, comfy chairs, maybe a cafe to grab a cup of coffee. What would set Midtown Scholar Bookstore so far apart that it would be recommended to “tourists” like us?
From the moment I drove down into the canyon that Sedona, AZ calls home I immediately fell in love. Why? Because it’s GORGEOUS that’s why. Even though it’s a great little city filled with happy people and more hippies per capita than California, Sedona’s biggest attraction are the giant red rocks that surround it. Built like a natural fortress with walls that come in a myriad of shapes, sizes, and colors you can never get tired of just walking around and looking up.
Each butte and stone spire you set your eyes on begs you to come closer for a better look. On our second day in town we succumbed to their calls and decided there would be no better way to explore the desert than getting into a 4×4 and off roading it. Touring the nation’s capital can be quite stressful. Washington DC has to much to see and the traffic can be horrendous. Trying to get from landmark to landmark can be difficult for even the most seasoned of travelers. On our last visit to Washington DC we opted to take the stress out of our city tour. We signed up for an Urban Adventures eCruiser tour of DC to take in all the sites in the National Mall.
No trip to the Baltimore Inner Harbor would be complete without a stop in at the National Aquarium. With over 17,000 different animals there’s a lot more than just fish to see. They feature mammals, birds, and reptiles in a series of innovative and interactive displays.
