We woke up refreshed and eager today at 5:30 AM. Pretty surprising considering no alarm was set and we’re on vacation. It must be a side effect of not having a job or something. We ended up doing an offbeat “rambling road trip” 536 mile drive from Jacksonville, FL to Knoxville, TN. It took much longer than it should have because we made it a point to take a bunch of detours along the way and found plenty of things to do. It made the previous day feel like a practice run for the real thing. We headed out that morning full of laughter and giggles ready for adventure to come our way.

Pet Friendly Hotel Kimpton Palomar Review – Washington D.C.
When Kenin and I traveled to Washington D.C., we thought it would be a bit of a task to find an upscale pet friendly hotel, but this was not the case. We found that D.C. is extremely pet friendly with several quality choices. The hotel we chose was the Hotel Palomar by Kimpton. Our dogs were living in the lap of luxury, no bones about it :) Take a look at this Kimpton Palomar Review to see why the choice was so easy.
Road Trip Planner Highway 101 Washington to Oregon to California
Road trippers are always looking for the next great road trip challenge. While touring the country we came to one of our favorite routes along the Pacific Coast – Highway 101. This route has everything you could ask for in a classic road trip. It includes winding roads, elevation changes, coastal cliffs, and beaches. We followed Scenic Highway 101 for two days, from Washington to Oregon to California.
In this Road Trip Planner for Highway 101 we’ll cover the first leg from Tacoma, WA to Grants Pass, OR.
Coop’s Place New Orleans – Review
While walking the streets of New Orleans you’re bound to work up quite the appetite. While visiting any city we always ask the locals where to eat, and while shopping in the French Quarter we were sent to Coop’s Place New Orleans. Coop’s is restaurant and pub (with just a touch of “dive bar” flavor), but also has a few video poker machines, so it is 21 and over only. For us, it was a nice place to have lunch in a kid free zone even though the ubiquitous frat boys(and sorority sisters) were present. Continue reading below to see why Coop’s made our list of where to eat in NOLA.
