While visiting America’s Northeast, Kenin and I decided to spend a weekend in the quaint city of Burlington, Vermont. We were looking for a place where we could relax and take in some sights, while also recharging our batteries and getting some rest. Burlington, VT turned out to be exactly what we were seeking. This charming little town stole our hearts and we can’t wait to go back and explore a bit deeper. The Von Trapp Family Lodge – A Touch of the Alps in Stowe, VT

From the moment we pulled onto the entrance for the Trapp Familly Lodge, I knew that Lauren and I were in for a truly special getaway. Even though we were surrounded by the rolling hills and luscious landscapes of Vermont for the entire drive up from New Hampshire, there was something more than the surrounding beauty that gave us that feeling. The property had a certain quality that we couldn’t quite put our fingers on, a “je ne sais quoi” if you will. Then we passed a sign on the way in that said it all: Welcome to the Trapp Family Lodge, a little bit of Austria a whole lot of Vermont. In a nutshell that was it. From the second we stepped foot on property we were transported into a whole other world where pampering and relaxation were the top priority. We sought out the Trapp Family Lodge because we were looking for a great romantic, pet friendly getaway and we found it in Vermont.

Escaping to the Pet Friendly Hilton in Burlington Vermont

Burlington, Vermont is the perfect place for a romantic weekend getaway. The town is adorable and full of quaint shops and restaurants. We usually take our dog Zoe with us when we travel, even on romantic getaways. The Hilton Hotel in Burlington, VT was the perfect place for our little escape. They are conveniently located on the gorgeous Lake Champlain and two blocks from the historic Church Street Marketplace.
