We started our day off groggy again, but much better rested than the last time we pulled an overnighter. This time we slept in an actual official rest area as opposed to a truckers pull over. We were very eager to get going despite the fact that it was just after 6:00 AM. You see, we had another date with the Pacific Coast and more importantly we were going to finally get to see the redwoods. We’ve wanted to see the redwoods for countless years, but never had the occasion. Now we had all day to cover just 428 miles so we could take our time and see the giants in person. We cranked up our Seattle inspired grunge playlist to get our blood going and sped on our merry way.

Visiting Seattle Washington – Road Trip Diary Day 12
I have been looking forward to this day for quite some time. Seattle here I come! Kenin and I have always wanted to visit. We stopped here briefly once a few years ago on our way to Alaska for a cruise. We weren’t even in the city long enough to see the Space Needle. Ever since then, I have longed for visiting Seattle. We drove into Seattle and immediately, both fell in love with the city. The place has a certain buzz that gets into your blood. I can see what inspired the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain. I wanted to start my day at Pike’s Place Market and Kenin was more than happy to oblige. Continue reading
Road Trip from Montana to Seattle Washington – Diary Day 11
I woke up to the sound of blaring horns, with cramps in both my legs and a sore back. Took me a minute to figure out where I was. Oh Yeah, I’m parked in a rest stop in the middle of Montana. We spent the night sleeping in the car with the dogs. No road trip is complete without a night in the car, hunched over the steering wheel in a sleeping bag. Warning! This is not something that should be done by the faint hearted. But I consider it mandatory if you haven’t done it since you were 20. It’s a right of passage for road trippers. We had to get ourselves from the middle of nowhere Montana to Seattle. It was going to be a long day… Continue reading

We followed Scenic Highway 101 for two days, from Washington to Oregon to California.
In this Road Trip Planner for Highway 101 we’ll cover the first leg from Tacoma, WA to Grants Pass, OR.
Habesha Ethiopian Restaurant Review- Seattle, WA
Kenin took me to this amazing restaurant in Seattle, WA called Habesha Ethiopian Restaurant. It is not exactly in the heart of downtown so we did have to walk a little to get there, but it is still within comfortable walking distance of both Pike’s Place Market and The Space Needle.
The atmosphere was perfect for a date night after a long day of playing in the city. The softly lit restaurant was quiet and intimate even though there were several larger parties dining around us. Continue reading
