You may have thought of traveling with your dog, but do you ever think of how much of a responsibility that it? Well, a dog is fun to be around, especially when you are driving alone and you need a companion to experience new places with. Today I awoke and went to await the mailman. I don’t feel angry or agitated. I feel excited and consumed with nervous energy. I have no intention of barking at him today. My tail is wagging and I am filled with anticipation. Today the mailman and I will forge a new relationship. Today my mailman is going to become my new best friend. Today is the day that my Barkbox will arrive and the mailman will be the deliverer of such delight.
My favorite time of the year is right around the corner. That’s right folks, Fall! I love so many things about fall, the colors, the smells, the foods, but most of all, I love Halloween! Everyone that knows me knows that I love to dress up and go out dancing. Halloween is the perfect excuse for me to do this. I get giddy when I see my friends out there planning their costumes for weeks and some of my more committed friends plan for months. Everyone gets to be part of their very own fairy tale if only for one day. Road tripping with our dog Zoe is our absolute favorite thing to do. We love taking her hiking and swimming and playing in the park. She leads a pretty glamorous life. Growing up on Cape Breton Island, I was surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and they were an important part of my life in all seasons. Windswept winter walks, early autumn shell collecting, ice cream filled summer afternoons, and late spring bonfires are the scenes of my childhood.
It’s only natural that when Ryan and I adopted our beloved black lab mix, Chester, we expected him to be a water baby as well. Don’t all dogs love the water? And he’s (well, mostly) a lab – those webbed paws are perfect for some ocean fun!
