As a traveler, I’ve had the opportunity to cross the globe seeking out new and exciting experiences. There are two types of travel though, that have so far eluded me. Space Travel and Time Travel. While space travel might materialize in my lifetime, I have always accepted with fateful resignation that I would never get the chance to travel back in time. That is, until I found out about Heritage Park in Calgary.
We love beer! We will never pass up the opportunity to try a new craft beer. During our Calgary visit we were pleasantly surprised at the craft beer movement in this fabulous town. Tucked away in the industrial neighborhood of Calgary is the Village Brewery. You know us, we had to take a tour and a taste (well, a few tastes :) ). In addition to a Brewery tour, we were invited to the Village Brewery Hump Day Social. The event changed not just my perception of craft beer, but of business in general! This one day solidified my love for the city of Calgary and the people who live here.
When you think of Maryland what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Crabs! Now it’s downright impossible to get Marylanders to agree on exactly who serves the best crabs and crab cakes. Since we couldn’t get a straight answer, we did the next best thing and let history be our guide. That lead us to Maryland’s own Phillips Seafood. Known as Maryland’s “Crab Ambassadors”. When you’ve been a couple for a long time, date night can become a bit routine or, dare I say it, just a bit stale. I mean dinner and a movie are fun and all, but sometimes you’re looking for something more romantic and meaningful. And to the guys out there, I know we can all agree that planning a romantic date night can be pretty difficult at times. Why can’t date night just be easy and fun? With that in mind, I decided to go on a hunt for the best date night in Calgary. I’m happy to report that I found exactly what I was looking for at Heritage Ranch. They’ve managed to take date night to the next level by not only knocking it out of the park with romance, but by having it all tied up in one neat little package.
Whenever we travel, we always try to tap into local food specialties. This allows us to explore how different regions are influenced by their cultural make-up.
