It’s April, and where I’m from that means Spring is here and in full bloom! It’s time for Mother Earth to shake off the remnants of frigid winter and celebrate life once again. What better way to share this wonderful phenomenon than with a tribute to Spring’s beautiful blossoms in this weeks #FriFotos- Blooms!
Spring is by far many people’s favorite time of the year. Cruel old man winter is finally gone and the world changes form a dreary grey and white to a bright Technicolor dreamscape. Bears come out of hibernation, squirrels scamper freely, and everyone is in a better mood. The best art though, is all the wonderful colors that begin to appear as flowers bloom.
One of my favorite flowers is the hibiscus. It reminds me of home. Trinidad and Tobago is home to countless color variations of this beautiful and fragrant flower.
Roses are beautiful when in full bloom. Nothing like getting a bunch of blooming roses surrounded by carnations to start off Springtime.
These were flowers we purchased for my mother, but I have no idea what kind they are. :)
I know when people think blooms, they don’t think algae. When algae is in full bloom it can also be amazingly beautiful. This is Springtime Florida style. Pay no attention to the mini gator using these blooms as camouflage.
Then of course there’s America’s favorite bloom, the bloomin’ onion :-) I’m pretty sure that this is a year-round bloom.
Spring has just begun so take a step outside and enjoy life in bloom.
The Blooming Onion is a great interpretation of blooms :)
In Bloom by Nirvana instantly played in my mind when I saw these beautiful flowers. “Spring is here again, reproductive glands” ..I tried to search what those pretty pink flowers are, I thought they were hibiscus because they kinda look the same, and I’ll get back to you when I found it. ;)
PS. I love those bloomin’ onions too, and I don’t care if they’re full of calories and fat. ^_^
Rachel, The bloomin’ onion was a last minute addition :) Now I have Nirvana’s In Bloom stuck in my head, guess there could be much worse songs for that :)
