“Travel is expensive!” “How can you afford it?” “Where do you sleep?” Any long term traveler can tell you that these are questions they answer pretty much on a daily basis. Whether you’re in line at the market buying some fresh fruit or at a freeway rest area walking your dog, once someone finds out you travel full-time the list of questions begins! I decided to put together this Rambling Guide to Affordable Long Term Travel Accommodations in order to put some of those questions to bed (see what I did there??) and to help any traveler (full time or part time) save some money on their next trip.
A Somber Day at Sea – When Tragedy Strikes During Your Vacation
I recently spent a vacation on a cruise that ended up all over the news. I struggled quite a bit internally for a few days on whether I wanted to write this article or not. I decided to put my thoughts out there and maybe it would help me cope. I was enjoying 7-days in the beautiful blue Caribbean waters working on indulging in some food and drinks, enjoying a nice relaxing trip (or two) to the spa, and reading in the suns warm rays by the pool. I was thoroughly relaxed and close to finding my zen when all of a sudden, like a thief in the night, my tranquility was swept out to sea.
10 Fun Travel Books for Kids – Instilling Wanderlust in Children
Recently my husband and I were perusing a bookstore in search of a gift for our nephew. We almost always bribe him with toys (hey we are the aunt and uncle, that’s what we do) but for Thanksgiving we decided on getting him a book instead. After reading to him on our last visit we came to the conclusion that we can get him something practical but have it still be enjoyable. Kenin and I both love reading and we both love traveling. We put together this list of 10 fun travel books to help instill a bit of wanderlust in your kids.
America the Beautiful: Photos From Sea to Shining Sea
My husband Kenin and I spent the last 3-years traveling and blogging about it with tons of positive support from our friends and family. We’ve also met a lot of strangers and have made many new friends along the way. Whenever people first hear that we are full time travel bloggers, the first question we seem to get is “How many countries have you visited?” Well, in our case we have spent the last 3 years traveling around North America and road tripping has become our thing. We’ve since discovered that America is so vast and beautiful.
From coast to coast the country is immensely diverse and the landscape ever changing. We’ve spent a great amount of time slow traveling across this amazing land and still have so much that we wish to see. Here are a few photos of some of our favorite places that we think make the United States an amazing place for travel.
The Benjamin Hotel in New York City – Pet Friendly Paradise in Midtown
In the heart of New York Cities Midtown is a hotel that takes the term “Pet Pampering” to a whole new level. The Benjamin Hotel was Zoe’s first stay in the city and I have to admit, she seemed to be very happy about it. The hotel is definitely a pet- friendly paradise as far as Zoe was concerned.
