Muse – Fresh and Fun Fine Dining in Calgary
It’s not often that you can effectively mix fine dining with a casual and comfortable environment. Somehow though, the team at Muse has managed to do just that. Located in the trendy Kensington neighborhood just outside of downtown Calgary, Muse is a great spot to relax and enjoy a romantic evening while also pleasing the most refined of pallets.
A Little Taste of Heaven at Evil Dave’s in Jasper Alberta
“Canadian” cuisine is something very difficult to define. There are so many dishes that are popular throughout the country that either originated in other countries before coming across the ocean, or dishes that were innovated in French Canada, like poutine. However what I’ve found is that in place of having their own cuisine, Canadians, and Albertans especially, have become great at creating fusion dishes combining local ingredients with international favorites. While we were in Japser we found a great little spot that has made a name for themselves by doing just that. Evil Dave’s has become a must-eat dining destination by serving heavenly food with devilish names.
CoBo Sushi Bistro and Bar in the heart of Boone, North Carolina
In the heart of downtown Boone in North Carolina is a culinary hidden gem called CoBo Sushi. Opened in May of 2013, CoBo was started by Joseph Miller who is also the head chef. Joseph lived in Steamboat Springs, CO for 5 years learning and apprenticing under multiple accomplished sushi chefs. Upon returning to his home town, he brought his passion here to fill a void the downtown area of Boone has had for a long time. In homage to his Colorado training, he named the restaurant CoBo (Colorado/Boone).
Indian Street Food – A Guide for the Hungry Traveler
One of our favorite things to do in a new country or city is visit the local street food vendors. It’s the only version of fast food that I will endorse. Indian Street food is a perfect way to sample India’s vast cuisine and culture. You get to stand around a food cart and watch the magic of vendors slinging ingredients together to make their local delicacies. You get to see the love and attention that goes into food and food consumption. A good street food vendor will consistently be surrounded by loyal consumers. It also gives you the chance to stand around and chat with the locals whom you already have something in common with… a love of good Indian street food!
