When visiting Harrisburg, PA, several locals recommended we check out the Midtown Scholar Bookstore. We love reading and bookstores are somewhere Kenin and I both use for solitary recreation. All this being said, I wasn’t sure why such a huge deal was being made about this place. Most bookstores are pretty similar, books, comfy chairs, maybe a cafe to grab a cup of coffee. What would set Midtown Scholar Bookstore so far apart that it would be recommended to “tourists” like us?
When you think of Maryland what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Crabs! Now it’s downright impossible to get Marylanders to agree on exactly who serves the best crabs and crab cakes. Since we couldn’t get a straight answer, we did the next best thing and let history be our guide. That lead us to Maryland’s own Phillips Seafood. Known as Maryland’s “Crab Ambassadors”. Tucked away in a corner of Northern Miami Dade County is one of Miami’s best kept secrets. No, it’s not a private beach for the ultra rich or some ultra exclusive bar where musicians and starlets hang out. It’s a place open and accessible to average Joe’s like you and me (even though you might find some notable Hollywood movie stars there). I’m talking about the recently opened Miami Automobile Museum featuring the Dezer Collection. If you even think you might have a passion for cars or are looking for something cool to do in the Miami area, you have to check out this car museum.
Every once in a while, here at TheConstantRambler, we take a tour somewhere and leave that place a changed person. The most recent example of this was the Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida. We entered the Big Cat Rescue expecting to find something like a zoo; smallish pens, animals on display, and a focus on giving visitors a big bang for their buck. We left the Big Cat Rescue feeling like we had just left a monastery where we were intruding on the sanctuary created for these beautiful felines. The owners and staff have done an amazing job putting together a place where abused, abandoned, and injured big cats can recover and live out their lives in peace and relative solitude.
The Constant Ramblers recently had the pleasure of doing a test run on some products that I have personally been drooling over since I found out about their existence almost a year ago.
