I stumbled out of the airport jet lagged, sleep deprived, and frankly a little drunk, but as I looked out at Rome I felt myself falling in love. There is something magical about Rome that makes it more than a city. It’s an experience.

There’s one thing we love almost as much as we love travel and our doggies: CARS! This is why we jumped at the chance to visit the National Automobile Museum Reno, NV. The National Auto Museum features a deep collection of cars and memorabilia covering an entire century of automotive history. Many of the vehicles featured are part of the Harrah Collection of cars and there are several one of a kind vehicles on display!
After having a great time in the Pacific Northwest we decided to take our trip to a much warmer climate. On our last trip in the area we took Highway 101 South along the Pacific Coast to Northern California. This time we decided to switch it up a bit and head towards the inland and made a stop off in Redding, CA before hitting Reno and Las Vegas in Nevada for a little rambling and gambling.
Bushkill Falls, also known as the “Niagara of Pennsylvania” is a hidden gem nestled in the Poconos Mountians near the Delaware Water gap. It features several waterfalls along a series of hiking trails and a nature center. The drive to Bushkill takes you through varied scenery and quite a few winding roads, which is an added bonus for the driving enthusiast. One of our favorite parts though is the fact that the park is pet-friendly so you can bring your dog with you while you visit! It makes an excellent day trip for anyone visiting Pennsylvania or Eastern New Jersey and has something to offer every age group.
We’ve spent the longest time in Alaska than we have in any other state this trip, but for very good reason. It makes up about 20% of the United State’s land mass. This state is HUGE! Considering that we made it up here we decided to spend some time touring the entirety of Alaska’s interior, in addition to hitting our goal of driving the Dalton Highway to Deadhorse, Alaska. Our road trip route took us from Tok, AK to Fairbanks before hitting the Dalton Highway to the North.
