In the heart of New York Cities Midtown is a hotel that takes the term “Pet Pampering” to a whole new level. The Benjamin Hotel was Zoe’s first stay in the city and I have to admit, she seemed to be very happy about it. The hotel is definitely a pet- friendly paradise as far as Zoe was concerned.
Upon arrival at the Benjamin, each pooch is treated with a Barkbox. This is a box filled with toys and treats for your dog to enjoy during and after their stay. Zoe’s box contained some delicious lamb treats, a cheese stick, a toy and a little portable water bowl. Each box is different so it is a true surprise for you and your pet.
We put our luggage away and soaked in our surroundings. The plush bedroom was cozy and comfortable and screamed of New York style and panache.
The living room was huge and inviting and not something you would expect from a hotel in New York City since rooms are typically pretty small. The large space was big enough to live out of and even had a comfortable desk to set up our laptops. In addition to this here was a small kitchenette that included a full size fridge and wet bar area, a true rarity in NYC.
Zoe surveyed all the furniture before realizing that she had no need for our human comforts. The Benjamin also gives their VIPooches a pet bed on loan for the duration of their stay. Needless to say, this makes for happy humans and happy pets.
All Zoe needed was her blanket (we never go anywhere without it) and she tucked herself in for a nap before heading out to check out the city. The Benjamin also provides dog food and water bowls if needed for your pet’s stay. Zoe is a professional traveler however so she travels with her own equipment.
Waking up to this view of Mid-Town Manhattan every morning of our stay was so unbelievable. There is nothing in this world like watching those yellow NYC taxis hopping in and out of traffic from 16 stories above the ground. Our stay at the Benjamin was short but intensely sweet. Hopefully we can visit again soon.
