The Town of Whistler
For true connoisseurs of skiing holidays Whistler, a resort town located in the Canadian province of British Columbia (126 km from Vancouver), is a perfect destination.
Whistler is home to the Backcomb ski resort, one of the largest ski resorts in North America. Backcomb offers excellent mountain trails (about 100 different configurations), with varying difficulty levels, as well as many other types of sport recreation; including mountain biking, hiking, sledging and skating, fishing, golf and more.
The town of Whistler has a second, informal name – the Snow Capital of the World, because the height of the snow cover is 914 cm.

The Whistler Museum
The Whistler Museum introduces visitors to the history of the city from the date of its foundation to the 2010 Winter Olympics. It is here that you can learn how the wilderness was turned into a world famous ski resort.
Also in the museum you can get acquainted with the flora and fauna of the city and its surroundings, check out exhibits such as the hunting hut and the white marmot – the symbol of the city. The museum features a large number of interactive exhibitions that will allow you to learn more about pioneers, local traditions as well as the famous four legged inhabitants of the city – black bears.
Additionally, the museum offers a large number of historical educational programs. For the visitors there are presentations, accompanied by stories from local folklore; as well many other interesting events: discussions about the protection of the environment, meetings with famous photographers and videographers, and more.
The territory of the museum can be rented out for private events.

The Luge Center in Whistler
The Whistler Luge Center is well known to most fans of of winter sports in the province of British Columbia, and abroad.
The complex is located on the slopes of Mount Blackcomb and includes many trails for bobsleigh, skeleton or sledding. Construction of the luge route began in the summer of 2005, and he first competitions took place in 2008. Since then, many world-class competitions luge competitions have been held in Whistler.
The capacity of the center is 12,000 people. The route, where the highest start begins, has a height of 938 meters. The total length of the track is almost one and a half kilometers.

The Whistler Library
The Whistler library opened in 2008 and is the most popular library in the province. It’s an attraction for local residents and visitors alike. The library has a remarkable views and fits organically into the surrounding mountain landscape. The architect of the library, Condon Mulror, received several prestigious awards for his creation .
The library staff is very well-trained and is always ready to help. Also, the library has a children’s room, so it’s a good destination for a family trip.

Chateau Whistler Golf Club
This golf club is markedly different from other similar clubs. It offers a classic “mountain golf in all its glory” experience. The golf course has a number of design features which incorporate the mountainous terrain – a highly elongated shape and a height difference of over 400 feet. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr..
Visitor to the club get a chance to enjoy beautiful views of the Blackcomb Mountain and the Whistler Valley. The views of bare rocks, mountain ledges, gorges and waterfalls make for a perfect backdrop for the game.
It should be added that the club has accommodations for both play and recreation. As such, it is more than just a golf club – it’s a recreation center as well.

The Sports Center in Meadow Park
The sports center in Meadow Park was built in 1992 and has been very popular among locals and tourists ever since.
The center holds a large ice arena, able to accommodate up to 350 people. Many of the city’s hockey teams train in the arena. For visitors it is possible to rent equipment.
Additionally the sport center contains a fitness center and fitness studio, a large selection of exercise machines, as well as squash courts, a swimming pool, a steam bath and sauna.
